Installing Limpido
A few quick steps after downloading — including the security prompts you may run into.
Windows
.msi installer
- 1 Double-click the downloaded .msi file.
- 2 If a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen appears, click More info → Run anyway. (Limpido is signed but not yet EV-reputation-rated, so SmartScreen flags it as a new publisher.)
- 3 Follow the installer — Limpido opens automatically when it finishes.
Windows 11 already includes the required WebView2 runtime. On Windows 10 the installer fetches it automatically if missing.
Linux — AppImage
.AppImage (portable, no install)
- 1 Make the file executable: chmod +x Limpido_*.AppImage — or right-click → Properties → Permissions → "Allow executing file as program".
- 2 Run it: double-click the file, or ./Limpido_*.AppImage from a terminal.
- 3 Optional: on first launch, accept the prompt to add a menu shortcut for next time.
Needs WebKitGTK 4.1+ (libwebkit2gtk-4.1). On Ubuntu/Debian: sudo apt install libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0. The AppImage is self-contained — no system install required.
Linux — Debian / Ubuntu
.deb package
- 1 Install with apt: sudo apt install ./Limpido_*.deb (resolves dependencies automatically).
- 2 Or open the file with your software-installer GUI and click Install.
- 3 Launch "Limpido" from the application menu.
The .deb depends on libmpv2 for the native player; apt pulls it in for you.
Android / Android TV
.apk (sideload)
- 1 Allow your browser or file manager to install apps: Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps.
- 2 Open the downloaded .apk and tap Install.
- 3 On Android TV (Chromecast, Bravia, Mi Box): copy the APK with the "Downloader" app or a USB stick, then open it with a file manager.
No Play Store listing — the APK is dual-signed and verifies its own updates in-app. Android 8.0+ (API 26) required.
Built-in IPTV player
Every installer ships with the full IPTV stack. Import an M3U URL, an M3U file, or an Xtream Codes account and start watching — EPG guide, catch-up TV, multi-view 2×2, picture- in-picture, stream health badges, audio + subtitle track selection, series drill-down. No additional download, no extra plugin.
Available with the Lifetime and Pro plans. Free tier includes the web-video companion (SponsorBlock, distraction-free overlay, PiP, background audio).
Verified downloads
Every release is dual-signed with Ed25519 + ML-DSA-65 (FIPS 204). The installer verifies the hybrid signature before applying the update. SHA3-256 digests are published alongside every release for independent verification.
